Lodge makes grand gift

THE Lawson Poole Daylight Lodge made a generous donation towards helping the area’s youth last week.
Worshipful Master Maurice Carter presented $1200 to the Casey branch of Southern Cross Kids Camp last Tuesday 11 December.
Director John Lynch and craft co-ordinator Diane Gilbert accepted the cheque on behalf of the organisation.
Mr Carter said it was pleasing to be able to give a donation to such a worthwhile cause.
On receiving the cheque, Mr Lynch said the money would go a long way in the funding the costs of the camps . “The aim of these camps is to give kids from a high risk environment some time where they are given love and attention by the ‘Buddies’ as the helpers are called, giving the kids a wow factor and hope, knowing that there are people out there who care and thus enable them to look forward to a better lifestyle,” he said.
“We at the Southern Cross Kids Camp get encouragement in seeing the progress of these kids in their well-being and outlook in life, the camps help lift the spirits of the kids and understand that they do matter and that there are adults out there who do care about them, there is a God who loves them.”
Mr Lynch thanked the members of the Lawson Poole Daylight Lodge for the donation from the proceeds of various fund raising events during the year including sausage sizzles.
