Thousands at Tricodes

IT WAS non-stop action at the Cranbourne Racing Centre on Friday night as it hosted the country’s only Tricodes event under lights.
Thousands turned out to the track for the event which saw 24 races in one massive night of racing.
The event is the only of its kind in Australia, with eight thoroughbred, eight harness and eight greyhound races in an action-packed program.
It was the first time the Cranbourne Racing Centre held the event under lights, seeing a larger crowd than previous years at the event.
Cranbourne Harness Racing Club chief executive David Scott said it was a great night.
“The first Tricodes meeting ever held at night certainly carried the event to a new level for all concerned,” he said.
“The spectacle created by combining all three codes racing under lights was fantastic against a backdrop of perfect weather.
“There’s no doubt the crowd was well up on recent years and those on-course enthusiastically embraced the night.”
