Fire fighters extinguish a fire which destroyed a shed in Tooradin on the weekend.

THE CFA has emphasised the importance of turning off electrical appliances and power boards when they’re not needed after fire destroyed a shed in Tooradin on the weekend.
CFA crews from Tooradin, Warneet, Devon Meadows and Cranbourne battled the blaze for about 20 minutes on Saturday after a shed caught fire about 10am.
Lieutenant Tony Riley, from the Tooradin Fire Brigade, said the shed was completely engulfed when they arrived and the fire was beginning to spread to adjoining structures.
“Initial attack crews were able to contain the fire to the original structure, saving a vintage car stored in an adjoining shed and another two adjoining structures,” he said.
“The fire was well advanced on arrival, mainly due to the remote location of the buildings on the property and the fact that there was nobody home at the time.
“It took crews around 20 minutes to bring the fire under control, however firefighters remained on scene for some time afterwards while a fire investigation into the cause of the fire was conducted.”
Lt Riley said the cause of the fire remained inconclusive but it was thought to have started with an electrical fault from an overloaded power board in the shed.
“I emphasise the importance of turning off electrical appliances and power boards when not needed to reduce the risk of this type of occurrence,” he said.
