MELBOURNE Football Club’s community co-ordinator Glenn Balmforth stepped out of the business world and into the classroom for the Principal for a Day event last week.
Mr Balmforth took part in the 11th annual event at Devon Meadows Primary School on Wednesday.
The event aims to give a wide range of community and business leaders from all walks of life a first-hand experience of a normal day in a Victorian government school.
Devon Meadows Primary School principal Brett Bell said it was a great pleasure to host Mr Balmforth.
He said Mr Balmforth was keen to participate in a variety of activities including leading classes, sharing ideas with the students and staff, meeting parents and exchanging insights with him.
“He was also keen to interact with a variety of students in activities such as reading books, cooking pizzas and kicking the footy at recess,” he said.
“It provided us with an excellent opportunity to enable someone from the business community to gain a unique insight into the learning environment at our school.”
After the event day all Principals for a Day and their host principals have the opportunity to come together to discuss the common ground they share around leadership and ways of creating on-going and productive relationships.
