Community in the hunt for cash

LOCAL organisations now have the opportunity to benefit from grants through The Hunt Club Community Fund.
The Hunt Club estate project manager the Dennis Family Corporation provides the fund to support local community groups by awarding annual grants of $500 or $1000.
Now in its 11th year, the fund has donated more than $135,000 to a wide variety of organisations since its establishment.
Local, not-for-profit groups are now invited to apply for this year’s fund with $10,500 available in the pool.
Last year the Casey YMCA Youth Mentoring program was one of the successful recipients of a $1000 grant.
Casey region YMCA youth mentoring manager Rebecca Graham said they had put the money to good use.
“In particular this money has supported a young person from Cranbourne to be matched with an adult mentor,” she said.
“The mentor provides the young person with support and guidance each week in order to help them remain connected with the community and achieve their maximum potential.”
Applications will close at 5pm on Friday 31 August.
Grant recipients will be decided by an independent judging panel and announced in October.
The fund’s eligibility criteria requires applicants to be not-for-profit organisations that have been operating within the Cranbourne 3977 postcode area for at least 12 months.
