Four ‘pinched’ by police

FOUR men, including two from Cranbourne, have been arrested after more than $200,000 worth of jewellery was seized following search warrants across the south east.
Casey CIU Detective Senior Constable Michael Harris said police searched homes in Cranbourne, Dandenong and Pakenham.
He said the search warrants resulted in the recovery of various electrical items, jewellery valued in excess of $200,000 and other items, including licences and passports.
The two Cranbourne men, aged 30 and 39, a 36-year-old man from Dandenong, and a Pakenham man, 37, were arrested in relation to the recovery.
Det Sen Const Harris said any victims of burglaries or thefts within the last six months were invited to contact the police, as there was an investigation folder depicting all stolen items recovered.
Det Sen Const Harris said police believed the thefts were linked to other incidents in Casey in June, of which police are seeking more information.
On 27 June between 8.30am and 4.45pm, a man was sited at a home in Peak Drive, Harkaway, following a residential burglary.
A witness described the man as being 5’1”, about 30-years-old, thin build, middle eastern appearance, driving an old model green commodore station wagon.
On the same day at about 10am, police said a man in Fontaine Terrace, Narre Warren was confronted by a man in his home.
The man was described as about 30-years-old, 5’10”, olive skin with short, dark hair.
On Wednesday 13 June, a man attempted to grab a woman’s handbag at Fountain Gate Shopping Centre.
Police said the woman fell over and the man grabbed her purse from her bag and ran off. The man was described as about 5’8”, medium build, dark skin, wearing a blue peak cap.
