Booze bus-ted

A HAMPTON Park man was busted driving without a licence and being more than five times the legal blood alcohol limit last Thursday.
Police were testing drivers on Pound Road at Hampton Park when the 46-year-old man was intercepted about 11.30pm.
He recorded a BAC of 0.28 and police also discovered he had never held an Australian driver’s licence, despite living in the country for several years.
The man will be charged on summons with a number of traffic offences.
The booze bus was set up as part of the statewide ‘We are the toll’ campaign.
The initiative was launched following predictions the road toll in 2012 could be 30 to 40 more than last year.
Throughout April, May and June, every Victorian police officer, from the Chief Commissioner to new constables, had a focus on road enforcement.
