DESPITE living just one kilometre from each other, it was the World Wide Web that brought a lovestruck Cranbourne couple together.
With love in the air this week due to Valentine’s Day, Aaron Hawthorne and Susan Reynolds have chosen to speak about their success of finding love online.
The couple has had a whirlwind romance since first meeting online on Australia’s biggest dating site, Oasis Active, just over two years ago.
After getting to know each other on the net, they decided to meet face to face for the first time at the Settlement Hotel, Cranbourne, on 18 January 2010.
Four months later they were engaged and they recently just bought and moved in to their first home together.
“It turned out that we lived just one kilometre from each other,” Mr Hawthorne said.
He said as soon as he met Ms Reynolds he knew she was the one.
“We just get along really well,” he said.
“I love her easygoing personality and her ability to laugh at herself.
“We talk about anything and everything and joke and laugh everyday.
“And she loves everything about me!”
Mr Hawthorne said due to their success, he recommend online dating to others.
“I definitely recommend it but don’t just go for the person you meet online,” he said.
“Hopefully, by that time, you know what you want and, hopefully, she knows what she wants.
“When you meet the right one, it will just click.”
