Simple lesson in a good read

By Bridget Cook
WANTING to bring innocence back to children’s books led Hampton Park Primary School teacher Crispian Deacon to write one himself.
He is now hoping that is new book – Mystery on the Tambo River – will do just that.
His book is the story of three friends who uncover a bird smuggling plot while visiting their grandparents on the Gippsland Lakes.
“It’s a bit of Enid Blyton meets modern Australia, similar to the Famous Five stories,” he said.
Mr Deacon presented the Hampton Park Primary School library captains with the book to add to the school collection at the end of year assembly last year.
Mystery on the Tambo River can be purchased as an e-book, paperback or hardcover from Borders On-Line, The Book Depository, or Barnes and Noble book shops.
