ORGANISERS of the Tooradin Tractor Pull and Truck Show have hailed the event a roaring success with record crowds attending to enjoy the action.
More than 5000 people came through the gates at Rutter Reserve in Tooradin on Saturday for the 15th annual event. Event treasurer Rhonda Cooling, from Bendigo Bank Tooradin, said the day was incredible.
“It was bigger than what we thought,” she said. “It was the best attendance we’ve ever had, a bumper crowd. The weather was perfect for the event.”
Ms Cooling said that some of the highlights of the day included the V8 drag bikes display, the demonstration from the Braaap boys, the hot rod cars and of course, the good old tractor pull event.
“It was great,” she said. “The crowd stayed late to watch the main event… the tractor pull.” The event also included helicopter rides, a live band, kids’ amusements and truck show.
Ms Cooling said while they were unsure on exactly how much was raised, they had raised enough to donate funds back into the community.
“We are looking forward to doing that,” she said.
“That’s what it’s all about. I’d like to thank everyone for coming along and the sponsors for making it all happen.”
