Groovy time at Wilson Botanic Park

GROOVY events ‘Blues by the Lake’ and ’80s Retro Night’ have made a return to Wilson Botanic Park this summer.
City of Casey Mayor Sam Aziz said these events promised to provide an evening of entertainment in spectacular natural surroundings for the whole family.
“Visitors to Blues by the Lake can relax to soulful melodies by blues performers Paul Bignell and the Thornbury Two and Chris Finnen and the Melbourne Blues Club,” he said.
“Or if you prefer to dance the night away, Wilson Botanic Park will also host a throw-back to the fun ’80s when popular retro band Controversy performs for ’80s Retro Night.”
Blues by the Lake will be held on Saturday 21 January and the ’80s Retro Night will be on 3 March.
Both will run from 6pm to 10pm and will show at the Ampitheatre.
Tickets can be purchased on the night, and cost $15 for adults, $12 for concession, $8 for children and $42 for families. The events are alcohol free. Families are encouraged to bring along a chair or picnic rug and snacks, or buy from the venue.
As parking is limited, a free ‘Park and Ride’ shuttle service will operate from Timbarra Way, Berwick, opposite the Hugh Hodson Reserve.
The Park will be closed to general visitors from 4pm.
