Council devotes pet time

THE City of Casey is seeking community feedback about their views on our furry friends.
The council is currently developing a new four-year domestic animal management plan that will provide the strategic direction for animal management within Casey.
To assist in the development of the plan, the council is seeking to better understand any animal-related issues that affect the community.
Feedback from both pet owners and those who don’t currently own pets is encouraged.
Feedback collected from the survey and additional community consultation will help the council build a greater understanding of the issues and experiences that are important to residents living in Casey.
City of Casey mayor Shar Balmes said with more than 28,000 dogs and 8000 cats registered in the City of Casey, there was a need for the council to seek feedback on the issues affecting pet owners and their pets.
“Council is also hoping to hear from people who aren’t currently pet owners about their interactions with pets and their owners and their impact on the community,” she said.
Residents with a registered pet will receive the survey in the mail.
All residents can complete the survey on the council’s website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/currentconsultations by 16 December.
