THE Cranbourne Library is getting into the Christmas spirit and helping to spread a little happiness to the area’s disadvantaged families.
The library is again having its annual ‘Giving Tree’ where people can place a gift under the tree.
Each week leading up to Christmas, the gifts will be collected by the Salvation Army for distribution to families in the Cranbourne area.
Casey-Cardinia Library Corporation customer service manager Pru Menzies said they were looking for a range of different presents.
“Gifts for boys and girls of all ages would be very much appreciated, but presents for older children and teens are always much needed,” she said.
“Some families are doing it tough. Christmas is a time of giving, so I encourage everybody to pop a little something extra under the tree to help a more disadvantaged family.
“It doesn’t have to be a huge gift, anything would be appreciated.”
The tree is decorated with tags for people to fill out indicating who the gift would be suited to.
Cranbourne Library is located at 65 Berwick Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne.
