AFTER more than two years of anticipation, Hampton Park Primary School officially opened its new library and integrated learning space on Friday.
The new building was funded under the Federal Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER) program.
The layout of the building, which includes six new classrooms and a new library space, provides the space to ensure students can be grouped according to their individual learning needs.
Principal Leonie King said the building would be of great benefit to the school.
“Having access to this wonderful facility will allow teachers to approach teaching and learning in new and exciting ways, with students having access to a modern student resource centre and state-of-the-art technology,” she said.
“The building will ensure that Hampton Park Primary School continues to provide an education that allows students to develop the skills necessary to become highly effective and successful learners.”
Ms King said the school community had been looking forward to this day for a long time.
“Students waited in eager anticipation on Wednesday for the fences to be taken down and the last of the builders to vacate the site so they could play on the asphalt area they had been unable to access for such a long time,” she said.
“Staff, students and parents have walked through the building and have been amazed by the spaciousness and the many different learning spaces built into the design.”
