A LYNDHURST resident was pleasantly surprised recently with the customer service offered to people during the works at the Lynbrook Railway Station.
The John Holland company recently closed the Aylmer Road pedestrian underpass, which provides access for people from Lynbrook to Lyndhurst and vise versa, due to works associated with the Lynbrook Railway Station.
A free taxi service wasoffered to pedestrians wishing to use the underpass to ferry them around from one suburb to another.
Lyndhurst residents Lillian Marano said she was thrilled that they had thought about those who would be affected by the closures.
“I use the underpass often to walk to the Lynbrook wetlands to walk my dog Ella,” she said.
“It was great that they didn’t marginalise people with their pets.
“They showed great consideration for the local residents.
“It is important to focus on the positive of an important train station that will link the general public to the city.
“I was thrilled that this service was provided, and Ella and I were happy walkers as we just love the wetlands.”
