CRANBOURNE residents are being urged to get their creative juices flowing to help celebrate a milestone – Cranbourne’s 150th birthday.
The Cranbourne Chamber of Commerce (CCC), in conjunction with the Cranbourne News, is running a poster competition to mark the occasion.
Local residents of all ages are encouraged to submit an A3 poster, showing through pictures and words what Cranbourne turning 150 means to them and their family.
CCC events committee member and organiser of the competition Wayne Smith said the theme was about celebrating the past, the present and the future of Cranbourne.
“It’s a fantastic event and a major milestone for the community,” he said.
“This is just another way to celebrate the 150th birthday and forms part of the chamber’s dinner function this month.
“We would certainly like to see as many people enter this competition as possible.”
The posters will be displayed at the CCC’s joint annual General meeting and 150th birthday celebration dinner, to be held on Wednesday 19 October.
The posters will also be displayed at Centro Shopping Centre, Cranbourne.
Casey RACE and the YMCA are donating a six-month Family Aquatic membership, for up to four people, worth $1095 for the poster judged the best.
Judges will be looking for creative flair, originality and a simple message commemorating 150 years of Cranbourne.
Entries close on Monday 17 October.
Posters, which have to be A3 in size, can be submitted at Bendigo Bank, Shop 2 High Street Plaza, 75-89 High Street Cranbourne.
