Worker shot with nail gun

A MAN was taken to hospital last week after he shot himself in the leg with a nail gun in Lynbrook.
When paramedics arrived at the Lynbrook building site about 12.11pm last Wednesday, they found the man lying on the ground being helped by co-workers.
“The 21-year-old was putting up the frame of a new house when he slipped and had the nail gun in his hand, the nail gun discharged and shot him in the shin,” MICA paramedic Phil Smith said.
“It was a three inch nail with glue on the end so the man did the right thing by leaving it in there because it can cause serious damage if you try and remove it.”
Mr Smith said paramedics gave the man pain relief through an inhaler, then put a drip in his arm and gave him pain relief and fluids to help stabilise him.
He was taken to Dandenong Hospital in a stable condition.
