MELBOURNE Football Club chief executive Cameron Schwab took a step back in time when he went back to school last month.
Mr Schwab was ‘Principal for a Day’ at Courtenay Gardens Primary School on Tuesday 23 August.
From teaching in the classroom to doing yard duty, Mr Schwab quickly adapted to the position of principal, gaining valuable insight into the important role.
Mr Schwab thanked the entire school community for welcoming him.
“Principal Loretta Hamilton leads a great school, with fantastic values, exemplified by the teachers and exhibited in turn by the children,” he said.
“Principal for a Day was a great experience, and there was a real sense of pride in the school.”
Twelve other Melbourne Football Club employees also participated in the Principal for a Day program in the City of Casey.
Since 2001, Principal for a Day has matched over 1000 schools with business and community leaders, and has found that 93 per cent of partnerships have continued their relationships long after the events.
