WORKS are soon to start on a new $45 million shopping hub in Marriott Waters estate in Lyndhurst to cater for the residential community.
Villawood Properties is developing the shopping centre, which will include about 8000 square metres of retail floor space and 2000 square metres of office and medical facilities.
Woolworths and Aldi have already been secured as key tenants and Villawood is now calling for expressions of interest to fill the other tenancies including a medical centre, pharmacy, newsagent, restaurant, cafes, fast-food, specialty retailing and a petrol station.
In line with the perceived needs of the community, Villawood Properties also hopes to secure a bank, post office and telecommunication provider within the hub.
Others features planned for the precinct include more than 500 car spaces, comprehensive landscaping and a central community hub, featuring landscaped open space, seating and relaxation areas.
Villawood Properties executive director Tony Johnson said the shopping centre would provide local residents with improved amenities and greater convenience.
“At Villawood Properties we are firm believers in creating sustainable, functioning and integrated communities, and we are dedicated to delivering new amenities in order to support this region’s growing population,” he said.
“We have already demonstrated our commitment to the community through the recent opening of Marriott Waters’ on-site primary school, Lyndhurst Primary, as well as the completion of two out of the three planned wetland bodies and the ongoing construction of the estate’s community parks.
“We will also be developing a state-of-the-art Residents’ Club positioned alongside the shopping centre boasting wetland views, which is set to feature a gymnasium, swimming pool, private function areas and an adjoining cafe.”
Villawood Properties is now seeking expressions of interest for retailing opportunities. Visit the www.marriottwaters.com.au for more information.
