Staff from Cranbourne Bunnings visited Langford Grange Aged Care in Cranbourne last month to help residents create a vibrant and ecologically friendly vegetable garden.
The residents also took part in a class on sustainability in a bid to continue with the growth and upkeep of their fresh produce endeavour.
Bunnings Warehouse Cranbourne complex manager Mark Dempsey said Langford Grange staff approached the store and wanted some help and advice to improve their outdoor environment.
“We were excited to be able to help them out,” he said.
“Bunnings Warehouse Cranbourne wanted to help create an interactive garden space for the residents, many of whom enjoy engaging in activities including painting pots and planting.
“Our team members ran a number of workshops, including pot painting and planting for the residents.”
Mr Dempsey said the residents would benefit from the work they performed there.
“Many of the residents find the activities stimulating and therapeutic,” he said.
“We were just glad to be able to help out and do something with them that is a little out of the daily routine.
“Our team members were grateful for the opportunity to spend some time with the residents and help them create an interactive garden space that they can continue to spend time in.”
