THE Casey Concert Band is helping people to kick the winter blues with a special concert.
The band is holding its Sunday afternoon ‘Winter Warmer’ concert this Sunday, 24 July. The concert will feature a range of songs from themes including movies, the swing band era and stage shows.
All money raised from the event will be donated to the Berwick Primary School Performing Arts Department, to assist with music education within the school.
The school’s choir will also be performing alongside the Casey Concert Band on the day.
The band is under the direction of conductor Greg Marks, who has successfully led several community bands in both Sydney and Melbourne for the past 25 years.
“It will be a great way to keep the winter chills at bay for a short while,” Mr Marks said.
Berwick Primary School Choir, which has won several awards in open competition, is under the direction of Desiree Burns. The concert will be held from 2pm at the Rosanove Auditorium, St Margaret’s School, 27-47 Gloucester Avenue, Berwick. Cost is $10 for adults or $5 for concession and children under 12 are free.
Tickets are available at the door or reserve by phoning Greg on 0421 611 930 or Liz on 0411 150 059.
