CASEY residents wanting to get fit and have fun are encouraged to join or start at Heart Foundation Walking Group.
City of Casey mayor Shar Balmes said participating in the walking group was a great way to get active and meet people.
“The walks take place at different times and in various locations around Casey, so residents are encouraged to join a group local to them and take the walk at their own pace,” Cr Balmes said.
Anyone wanting to become a walk organiser will receive free training and resources, along with assistance from the council to help get them started.
Heart Foundation Walking is Australia’s largest network of community-based walking groups.
Over the last 10 years, more than 15,000 Australians have enjoyed the benefits of being part of a Heart Foundation Walking group and living a more active lifestyle.
For more information on becoming a walk organiser or joining a walking group in your area, contact City of Casey customer service on 9705 5200.
