STUDENTS from Cranbourne West Primary School put on their running shoes last month to take part in the Adidas School Fun Run.
The students raised $4146 as part of the fun run on Thursday 19 May to go towards buying new school resources.
The highest fundraiser for the event was Kayla Allan-Brown who raised $260.
Event co-ordinator Andrea Leonard thanked all those involved.
“Thank you to everyone who supported this event to make it such a huge success, it wouldn’t have been possible without the support from the local community,” she said.
The Fundraising Group general manager Brendan Hopp, the company behind the Adidas School Fun-Run said the event was a healthy fundraiser that ensured all schools have a viable alternative to junk-food fundraising.
“The event encourages all students to get involved and have fun while teaching them about fitness, health and goal setting,” he said.
By participating in this event, Cranbourne West Primary School will now be in the running to win a ‘Sports Day with the Stars’, where Craig Mottram and other elite athletes will visit the school.
All students who raised more than $50 will be entered into a draw to win a family holiday to Hawaii.
Adidas will continue to support Cranbourne West Primary School this year by donating part proceeds from footwear sales at The Athletes Foot to the school.
Details on how the community can be involved in this initiative are located at www.schoolfunrun.com.au.
