CRANBOURNE U3A is calling on community support so it can continue to deliver its classes to the community.
The organisation is holding an auction tomorrow (Friday) and the community is invited along to attend.
The auction will include a range of items including Bluetooth wireless headsets, motorcycle helmet with wireless Bluetooth mobile phone connector, car DVD player, antique dolls, sheets, kitchen utensils, vouchers and a range of bric-a-brac.
The University of the Third Age is an international organisation whose members enjoy classes in a wide variety of activities. The ‘third age’ is the age of active retirement, and U3A caters to those who have increased leisure and would like to learn new skills.
The Cranbourne branch runs a range of regular classes including computer, card making, painting, art and craft, calligraphy, French and genealogy.
Teacher Annette O’Donohue said the organisation needed to raise some extra funds so they could continue what they do.
“Our only source of income is membership fees,” she said.
“We need to raise some extra funds so we can keep going.”
Viewing time for the items will be held from noon to 1pm, then the auction will run from 1pm to 4pm.
The auction will be held in the conference room at Casey Indoor Leisure Complex, 365 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne.
