A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured during a collision – which he couldn’t remember – in Hampton Park last week.
Paramedics were called to a collision involving a motorcycle and car at the intersection of Hallam Road and Willow Drive at 7.30pm last Wednesday.
Intensive care paramedic Greg Nicholls said the 38-year-old man couldn’t remember the accident when the first crew arrived within 10 minutes.
“The man may have been briefly unconscious and was quite confused when we arrived,” he said.
“He suffered a fractured pelvis and was in significant pain.
“The man was also pale and sweating which can indicate internal bleeding.
“We put a drip in the man’s arm and gave him a substantial amount of pain relief to help settle him.
“He was also given a large amount of fluid to help stabilise his blood pressure which had dropped significantly.
The man was taken to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition.
