TOORADIN Primary School is one of 10 schools and youth groups in the Port Phillip and Western Port catchment area to receive a Melbourne Water Junior Landcare ‘raingarden in schools’ grant worth $5000.
The grant will allow the school to build a raingarden to improve the health of rivers and creeks in their school community.
The program promotes simple ways people can improve the quality of stormwater at school and at home and aims to raise awareness about how good management of stormwater can contribute to healthy waterways.
