They’ve got the power

POWER Equipment took out the Small Business category at the Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce Premier Business Award’s last Thursday.
The Lynbrook-based business was presented with the honour in front of about 800 people at Crown Palladium for the 20th celebration of the awards.
Power Equipment is the exclusive distributor of Yanmar marine and industrial diesel engines, JCB DieselMax diesel engines, Gori high quality folding sailboat propellers and Yanmar powered MASE diesel marine generators in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Business manager Noel Heritage said the company was started in 1990 in rented offices by owners Allan and Avril Foster and had since experienced significant growth, which led its relocation to a purpose-built facility in Lynbrook and the establishment of branches throughout Australia. “Lynbrook allowed us to build a purpose-built facility,” Mr Heritage said.
“It was built to our requirements with room for expansion and we’ve excellent facilities.”
Today, the company is still family owned and there are now branches in Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland and far North Queensland with more than 100 personnel throughout the whole group (including a separate New Zealand based operation).
Power Equipment has the expertise and experience to assist with almost any diesel engine application – marine or industrial, and has the reputation of being a high quality supplier of premium quality products, which are at the cutting edge of modern technology.
“We are market leader in our class in diesel engines in Australia,” Mr Heritage said.
