Church appoints new pastor

By Bridget Brady
LEE Kohler is the new senior pastor for the Berwick and Nazaret Baptist Church.
Mr Kohler was appointed to the role earlier this month, moving from CrossPoint Baptist Church in Cranbourne. He joins two other full-time pastors at the church.
Mr Kohler said he was pleased to join what he described as a friendly and active congregation.
One of the challenges the church faced was catering for a busy 10am Sunday service, Mr Kohler said, and said discussions were underway about whether to extend parts of the building.
“Last Sunday we could only just fit the people in. But it’s a very good problem to have.”
A service is also held in Latin each Sunday.
Mr Kohler has started a new teaching series called passionate spirituality, and welcomed anyone to take part.
“It’s quite an active church with lots of things going on during the week and lots for children.”
