PARENTS are encouraged to hold on to receipts to gain refunds from school expenses.
They can claim refunds of up to $794 for each secondary school student and $397 for each primary school student as part of the government’s education tax refund.
Holt Labor MP Anthony Byrne has urged local parents to make the most of the opportunity.
“Particularly with cost of living pressures for many working families, it is important that parents are aware of potential savings,” Mr Byrne said.
Doveton mother Geraldine DeLeon said the program was welcome support for parents, as she recently bought a computer for her son Paolo who attends Hampton Park Secondary College.
The computer, internet costs, printers and stationary are all eligible items as part of the rebate.
