‘We’re being

By Bridget Brady
Resident Angela Gardner has made this assertion after observing years of what she calls Casey Council’s disregard for the town.
Overgrown grass, unfixed fences, rubbish-strewn areas and graffiti are among the issues that Mrs Gardner said the council had not dealt with. And she said it was high time Hampton Park got the attention it deserved.
Mrs Gardner said the mess was made apparent as she passed through nearby clean and “beautiful” towns on her way to Fountain Gate recently, and noticed rubbish as soon as she arrived back in Hampton Park.
“I realise the council don’t put the rubbish there. But we pay the council to clean it up,” she said.
“Something’s got to be done. It’s an absolute disgrace. Because we’re in a commission area we’re the ones that are being neglected.”
Mrs Gardner said there was even an unfinished job after an incident in August 2009, when a car ran off the road and hit a fence, which she said was still not fixed.
“I don’t care whose job it is, fix it.”
Casey Council did not provide a response before the News went to print.
