THE Hampton Park community gathered for a night of festive cheer at a Christmas carols event last Friday.
The Casey Life Church presented the 12th annual Christmas carols event, with up to 2000 people enjoying the night of free family fun.
Pastor Graham Shand from the Casey Life Church said one of the highlights was ventriloquist Natalie Miller, who shared the story of Christmas with the crowd and the host of local performers, some as young as about 10-years-old, who took to the stage to perform.
“It really made it a very special event for a lot of people,” he said.
Luckily, the threat of stormy weather held off for the duration of the carols.
“Not one drop of rain fell during the entire performance of the carols.”
The Hampton Park Lions Club cooked up a sausage sizzle on the night, with various local businesses and groups contributing to the event.
Pastor Shand said it was a joy to bring the community together and host the event.
Casey Life Church will hold a service at 9.30am on Christmas Day at the Arthur Wren Hall in Hampton Park.
