CHRISTMAS came early for a group of Year 7 school boys, who were surprised with a special gift from their teacher last week.
About 20 boys who had taken part in a special program at Lyndhurst Secondary College this year got an unexpected end-of-year treat from student counsellor David Brown.
Mr Brown had collected bikes and scooters throughout the year, some of which had been fixed up, and handed them out to the boys last Thursday.
Mr Brown, who has a keen interest in bikes, said he thought he could help out some of the students who were not fortunate enough to already own a bike or scooter.
“I also had some Village Cinema vouchers for the boys who already had a nice bike or scooter,” Mr Brown said.
“We pulled their names out of a container and they got to choose from the bikes, scooter or Village voucher so they all got something. They all pretty much got what they wanted.”
Mr Brown said the give-aways were a nice way to end the school year.
