SEVEN water pumps valued at $50,000 were stolen from the Stevensons Road landfill site last month.
Police said the pumps were stolen from the Cranbourne closed landfill sometime between 9pm on 29 November and 7am on 30 November.
The pumps are about two metres tall, and there are about 90 on the site.
Police said the pumps had no role to play with the extraction of methane gas at the landfill.
