A RECENTLY retired Cranbourne resident is investing her new-found time as a volunteer at Casey RACE.
Helen Duncan swims regularly at Casey ARC and Casey RACE, and decided to apply for volunteer positions when she finished 36 years of work at a Berwick pharmacy.
“I love people and am also sports minded, so I just popped in here one day and asked. They were thrilled and I love it,” Ms Duncan said.
Ms Duncan visits the centre two hours every day and is the new meet and greet officer.
“As you get older, you have to remain active and this is the best way I can think of.
“I get on well with everyone really. Some people don’t have time to stop and talk and that’s fine, but those who I have conversations with are old, young, kids – everyone.”
