HELP is just around the corner for Lyndhurst residents, with the opening of the new ambulance station last week.
The Lyndhurst station was built to service the demand of the other nearby growing areas such as Cranbourne North, Narre Warren South and Lynbrook.
Six paramedics will operate out of the station, at Huon Park Road in Cranbourne North, during the peak times of 11am to 11pm.
Lyndhurst MP Tim Holding said Lyndhurst paramedics responded to about 180 emergency calls each month.
“The local paramedics do a wonderful job and this new, spacious, state-of-the-art home will ensure they are now even better equipped to respond to critical medical emergencies in and around Lyndhurst,” Mr Holding said.
Cranbourne and Pakenham will receive Peak Period Units to support their 24-hour services, and a new station will be built in Pakenham as part of a commitment to boost services in Melbourne’s growth corridors.
“As part of this boost we will deliver an extra 105 paramedics and 16 new or upgraded services in Melbourne’s growth corridors,” Mr Andrews said.
