Casey thinks pink

THE Casey community has got behind Pink Ribbon Day, with a number of fund-raisers planned in the coming weeks.
The Hampton Park Bowls Club has a breakfast fund-raiser planned, and a ‘Pink Ball’ will be held at the Berwick Spring Hotel.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley congratulated the Casey community for their support.
“Year after year, the Casey community is actively raising funds for Pink Ribbon Day and raising awareness of breast cancer,” Ms Graley said.
Ms Graley said she recently had the pleasure of attending a fund-raising event, hosted by Berwick resident Maddie Muscat.
“Maddie raised more than $1500 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation … Congratulations Maddie,” she said.
Ms Muscat said that she has hosted a Pink Ribbon Day fund-raiser for the last four years.
“We do it because it’s a great cause,” she said
Ms Graley encouraged local residents to attend fundraisers run locally in October.
“Last year, Hampton Park Bowls Club hosted a fund-raiser with over 100 people and they raised $1600,” she said.
“This year, the club is trying to exceed last year’s terrific result, so let’s get behind them.”
And the Pink Ball, at Berwick Springs Hotel, will be held on Friday 29 October at 7pm. Cost is $50 per person.
