Cakewalk for Catena

By Bridget Cook
IT was a case of second time lucky for the winner of the Myer Lady of the Day competition at the TAB Cranbourne Cup on Sunday.
The winner, 21-year-old Chantelle Catena from Parkdale, entered in the Fashions on the Field at The Age Caulfield Guineas the day before with the same outfit, but without success.
But the judges at the TAB Cranbourne Cup believed Chantelle had the winning look. Chantelle was announced the winner and awarded a $3500 Myer gift card. Sticking to the season’s trend of pale pastel colours, Chantelle was dressed in a beige Lisa Ho blouse and skirt, Mimco clutch bag and shoes and a large flower Morgan & Taylor fascinator.
Cranbourne Cup was only Chantelle’s second Fashions on Field competition.
“I couldn’t believe it when I won, I was so shocked,” she said.
Chantelle said she would spend the money on new clothes or make-up. Geannie Todaro, from Werribee South, was the runner-up and Blanche Milford from Dromana was awarded third place.
