Prime of place for sports

NOMINATIONS are now open for the 2011 Casey Citizens of the Year Awards.
The awards are a great opportunity to recognise the people and activities that make Casey a great place to work and live.
This year, two new categories have been included in the awards – Casey Sportsperson of the Year and Casey Community Fundraising Event/Activity of the Year.
The other categories are Casey Citizen of the Year, Casey Young Citizen of the Year, Casey Senior Citizen of the Year, Casey Non-resident of the Year and Casey Community Event/Activity of the Year.
The Casey Sportsperson of the Year award is for a resident who has made an outstanding and enduring contribution to the development, promotion and administration of sport in the City of Casey or to acknowledge the outstanding sporting career of a resident in the Casey community whose actions on and off the field have exemplified sportsmanship.
All of the eligible nominees will be acknowledged by council on Australia Day, Wednesday 26 January 2011, at the Casey Citizens of the Year Awards Ceremony.
For nomination forms, and criteria and eligibility guidelines, visit the City of Casey website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/citizenoftheyear or phone City of Casey Customer Service on 9705 5200.
