A BUS driver was assaulted at a bus stop in Hallam last week.
On Monday 20 September about 4.15pm, the bus driver was travelling along Frawley Road Hallam, on Route 827 from Hampton to Berwick.
The bus driver saw a man at a bus stop near the intersection of Frawley Road and Mulguthrie Court Hallam and stopped the bus to collect him.
Police said a dispute broke out between the bus driver and the offender over payment. The alleged offender struck the bus driver to his face with his fist, before he got off the bus and decamped on foot.
Police are appealing for information about the assault. The alleged offender is described as a man, about 25 years old, 6’3” (190cm) and solid build. He was wearing a fluoro yellow vest with a yellow hoodie.
The bus driver was employed by Moorabbin Transit. Anyone with information is asked to contact Senior Detective Harris at Narre Warren Police Station on 9705 3111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
