A CRANBOURNE man is assisting police with their inquiries into claims that human remains have been buried at a Pakenham home. Police have been at the modest suburban, brick veneer home in Mallee Circuit since Monday night.
It is rumoured that the remains are those of a child. On Wednesday there was a pram at the home’s front door and children’s toys in the back yard as forensics officers moved in with shovels.
Investigators conducted a re-enactment on the site with a the 31-year-old man who is assisting them with their inquiries.
Police continued to door-knock the area on Wednesday.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Allison Noonan said police had received a report of human remains buried in a Pakenham residential backyard and that investigations were continuing to substantiate those claims.
