Indulging for the cause

GET pampered and raise money for a good cause next month at the Tooradin Hall.
Aimee Ingram and Michelle Ribet will be holding pampering sessions every third Sunday of the month. For the month of October, they will be holding a fundraising event for breast cancer research.
“Preparations for September’s pampering session are going well. We’ve had some good responses, particularly from the stall holders,” Ms Ingram said.
“We are holding a ‘shop and pamper’ day once a month, at the same time as the Tooradin Market. I am going to be selling spiritual things, and doing palm reading.”
Also on offer will be treatments such as manicures, pedicures, eyelash tints and eyebrow waxing for very low prices.
For their fundraising event in October, they will be holding an auction, selling various things from gift vouchers to products to services.
“Everything from the auction will be donated from stall holders as part of the fundraising event,” Ms Ingram said.
“This is all to raise awareness for breast cancer. We will also be selling official breast cancer merchandise.”
Breast cancer is something Ms Ingram has dealt with personally.
“My mum had breast cancer and I recently found lumps in my breast,” Ms Ingram said.
“It really hit home that there needs to be more awareness. I’m only 29. We really need to build some more awareness about breast cancer.”
Ms Ingram and Ms Ribet’s stalls will be at Tooradin Hall every third Sunday of the month. Stalls are open from 8am until 4pm. Entry into the hall is free.
