STUDENTS are bringing their learning to life at a Hampton Park school.
English as a Second Language (ESL) students at Kilberry Valley Primary School have created their own script and made puppets based on the Tashi books by Anna and Barbara Fienberg. The students performed their puppet shows at the school’s film studio, which was relayed to the school during the morning news broadcast.
ESL co-ordinator Jenni Matheson said the activity helped the ESL students recognise and use quotation marks, punctuation and grammar. Ms Matheson said the students embraced the exercise, which she said also helped to improve their confidence.
