A timely musical production

A WORLD premier musical production written by a Cranbourne school teacher is on show at Frankston.
The script, music and lyrics for the St Peter’s College production The Time Machine have been written by the school’s performing arts co-ordinator Frank Carter.
Guitar teacher Bryce Ewing also helped write the music.
After more than two years in the making, Mr Carter said he believed this was the first musical adaptation of the HG Wells’ 1895 novel.
Mr Carter, who is no stranger to writing school musical productions, said he was excited about The Time Machine.
“It has elements of all sorts of music in it, from progressive rock to orchestra. And the songs have been written specifically for the students we have,” he said.
Mr Carter said it was extremely heartening to see the students pull off his work.
“When you see them singing the lyrics with a lot of passion and feeling- that makes it very worthwhile.”
The Time Machine will be performed at the George Jenkins Theatre in Frankston until 28 August.
