CHILDCARE and the arts in Cranbourne received a boost yesterday.
Minister for Community Development, Lily D’Ambrosio visited Cranbourne on Tuesday and announced a new sound-proof room worth $450,000 would be built at The Factory Rehearsal Centre for the Arts.
Ms D’Ambrosio also announced a $200,000 multi-purpose community space would be developed at Carlisle Park Children’s Centre in Cranbourne North.
The design of the room at The Factory would include sound-proof walls, floors and a high ceiling, Ms D’Ambrosio said.
“The arts play a vital role in strengthening communities and bringing people together which is why we are helping the centre accommodate larger groups, like the Casey Pipe Band, as well as music groups that like to play their music loud,” she said.
The community space will be home to a kindergarten and child and family health services, which Ms D’Ambrosio said was vital for young families in the area.
The Carlisle Park Children’s Centre community room is a partnership between the State Government, and the City of Casey that contributed more than $2.4 million to the project.
