It all adds up for Ganesh

THEY call Ganesh the human calculator.
And the grade six Kilberry Valley Primary School student lived up to his name by blitzing the field in the recent World Maths Day competition.
Competing against students from around the world on the on-line based competition, Ganesh finished an impressive fifth in Australia for the 9 to 13 age group.
The whole school took part in the competition, and leading teacher of numeracy Julie Redpath said students were excited about Ganesh’s success.
“They were just so excited. He’s amazingly smart,” she said.
The fifth place in Australia mean Ganesh finished about 22nd in the world, Ms Redpath said.
