Punched, kicked, stabbed

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Berwick on 23 July, when a man was stabbed in the leg.
A 40-year-old man from Berwick was walking home from the Berwick Railway Station, between 8.20 and 8.45pm, when he was approached by three men along Milparinka Way.
The men asked a cigarette and when he said ‘no’, they asked him for money.
Police said the victim told the men to “get lost”. One of the offenders punched the man in the side of his head. The other two offenders joined in and the victim was knocked to the ground.
Police said the men kicked and punched him repeatedly, before one offender stabbed the victim in his right leg. The offenders then ran off.
Police said the men were of African appearance, about 180cm tall and wearing ‘American gangster’ type clothing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
