CHILDREN have been basking in some school holiday fun at Merinda Park Learning and Community Centre.
The vacation care program, held during every school holidays, offers exciting excursions and incursions for primary school aged children.
Last Thursday staff and children celebrated a Chinese-theme day and enjoyed making Chinese food.
Out of school hours care co-ordinator Athena Jones said there was room for more children in the program, especially during the September and Christmas periods.
Ms Jones said the program was ideal for working parents, but also for parents who wanted to offer some extra entertainment for their children during the holidays.
“The children absolutely love it. It’s like a family environment,” Ms Jones said.
“The programs are decided after feedback from the children. The ideas come from the children, the staff just implement them.”
The programs run from 6.30am to 6pm and the cost is $28 per day. For more information visit www.merindapark.com.au or call 5996 0041.
