THE Lions Club of Balla Balla hosted its inaugural changeover dinner at Cranbourne on 23 June.
The committee members were inducted into their roles for a further 12 months during the changeover at the Blue Hills Country Club restaurant.
President Colin Butler said the club had been active in providing funds to not-for-profit community groups since it formally charted in September last year.
Secretary Peter Martin said the club was looking to increase its membership numbers, and amount of money generated from club activities to put back into the community.
Cheque presentations of $500 each were made to the Tooradin, Blind Bight/Warneet, Pearcedale and Devon Meadows/Cannons Creek fire brigades, the Cranbourne Shire Historical Society, Tooradin Foreshore Committee of Management and the Public Hall committees at Tooradin and Pearcedale.
The Lions Club of Balla Balla serves the coastal village communities of Casey and is looking for energetic and community-minded people to join.
For information call Sue Martin on 5998 3699.
