Fall and rise

FREESTYLE motocross star Cam Sinclair is continuing his rise up the world ranks after a near fatal fall last year.
The Cranbourne rider said he was pleased with his eighth placed result at the third round of the Red Bull X Fighters in Moscow recently, and is now gearing up to return in July to Spain where he fell during one of his trademark double back flips last year.
Sinclair underwent emergency surgery for a severely lacerated liver and suffered a host of other injuries when he under-rotated the double back flip- a stunt on a few people have ever landed- in July last year. After only his second competition in a year, Sinclair says he is making steady improvements every time he gets on the bike.
“I felt like I rode really well all weekend. I landed all my tricks smoothly and didn’t miss any jumps, which is exactly what I set out to do,” Sinclair said.
“I have a big couple of months ahead, so I just have to remind myself to be smart and don’t do anything silly before X Games.”
Sinclair said he looked forward to returning to Spain to thank people in person for their support.
“Returning to Madrid is a huge deal to me since my accident there last year.”
