DETECTIVES are searching for two people caught on camera the night Hampton Park man Scott Shaw suffered injuries that led to his death.
Police have released video footage obtained from a bus travelling on the South Gippsland Highway when the 24-year old was bashed on 12 September last year. Mr Shaw died in hospital six days later.
The footage is of two people, one armed with what appears to be a baseball bat.
Police charged a 38-year-old Cranbourne South man with murder last week, but Detective Sergeant Sean Audley said police believed about five people were involved and continued to appeal for witnesses.
“We’re not exactly sure how many people are involved but at the moment we believe it may be five, but our investigations are ongoing,” he said.
Det Sgt Audley said police kept an “open mind” about the circumstances of the assault, but believed there were no gang-related issues.
The Cranbourne South man, 38, has also been charged over another assault on the same night.
Troy Broughton, of Dandenong North, also suffered head injuries during the attack.
If anyone has information they can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
